Yeah, we're getting somewhere now - Basically, today we're at the point that we've got the footing all poured and the floor joists installed and the sub-floor area all dug out for the crawl space (that sure generated a bunch of dirt!). Next is for the plummer to come in and install the rough plumbing for bathroom fixtures, shower, outside spickots and such. Then the insulation, the subfloor then the walls! Can't wait.
These pictures were taken right after the footings were poured. Floor joists come next.
Ian Buchanan, Ed and Margery's 2 year-old son, was visiting us when the foundation was being poured - the contactor helped him scribe his name into the concrete. Of course, Marli had to get into the action also...
Wow - one day later and they installed all the floor joists - cool. Keep on trucking Alan!
As if we don't have enough going, we decided to build a garden wall along the back fence - starting from the shed and extending to the back of the yard. This will be a combination herb, flower and vegetable garden - more pictures after that's all finished. This is another two weekend project that's now on the fifth weekend. Oh well, it's almost done! Except now, I've got to install irrigation...
Here's Marli hard at work swinging a pick-axe. Not bad actually - after I showed her how to handle it. All that working out is finally paying off!
