It's been a while since I've taken any pictures and had a chance to do anything on the website. FusionOne has been keeping me way to busy to have time for stuff like this. Plus, I'm still trying to finish working on the back yard and other stuff around the house.
Again, though, a bunch of stuff has happened. It's feeling like a real addition now - the exterior and interior walls have been "filled in" - with stucco on the outside and the first coat of plaster on the sheetrock in the inside. The work has been top notch and we're really happy with the results thus far. Alan (the contractor) is now working on building our bathroom cabinetry and will be installing tile later this week. The plaster work should be finished tomorrow - not sure what's scheduled for the remainder of the week, but we've heard that the patio will be poured soon.
Here's the stuff, as I see it, that we've got left to do (by Thanksgiving! Alan's got his work cut out for himself.)
That's a ton of work, but I'm really hoping it'll be done soon. The days are getting shorter, as well as our patience - we thought we'd be in our room for several months now and it's getting a bit old being cramped into one bedroom.
Oh, yeah, we had one incident happen recently. Look at the pictures below and notice that there's a pretty high step between the door sills and the ground. There was a very rickety temporary step before, but Alan tripped on it about two weeks ago while he was going outside. He crashed to the ground and hit the step with his side, resulting in four broken ribs. Poor guy - but he only took off a couple of days before he was back on the job! Guess there's not much you can do for broken ribs, so you might as well bear it out...
