Of course, we haven't been without our share of problems, even given the fact that we've really only had a couple of days of construction time. First of all, there was the whole financing thing. Can't imaging how it could take a full two months to get a construction loan, but they managed superbly with their excuses, delays, attempts at acting like we didn't provide the correct paperwork, and it just goes on. By the time we got to the escrow company, they thought they had us worked up enough to dump an extra $2,000 in closing costs. Yeah, right. They eventually saw it our way, after much ado...
So, here we are - we've finally started. Kind of funny - our contractor started on June 14th, worked one day, then took vacation for 2 1/2 weeks (guess he'll be all rested up for the remainder though). Huh - we actually thought we'd have it almost completed by now!
Up to this point, they've dug the footings (and found a WELL right underneath one of the footings! - it'll be filled in tomorrow) and they've also started to build the forms. Next major thing is pouring foundation - yeah!
